Christmas Message

Just a little bit about what the family has been up to.

Brian is still working for Protection One. He is a salesman, and there are some good months and some not-so-good months. He enjoys his job for the most part and it gives us the flexability that we need, so, no complaints here. He is serving in the Young Men's and is over the teachers class. He was assigned a high school final game this year at the University of Utah which he was very excited about. Right now he is working with the arena football league. He doesn't particularly enjoy the drives home at 12:00 am from the Olympic Oval in the snow.

Brooklyn has transitioned really well into being a "big sister". She is dealing well with Brison and has only konked him in the head once! It was a bad one. She has seen just about every Disney cartoon out there over 100 times (maternity leave) and has almost every song memorized and can ask for it by "dopey song" (Heigh-ho) and "mulan" (I'll make a man out of you). Snow White is her favorite right now....it could be Cinderella tomorrow..who knows with her. We are going to go to Disneyland in March and I can't wait for her to meet all the princesses. She loves getting her fingernails and toenails painted (thanks to allie and ash) and at the same time will not hesitate jumping off the counter onto the love sac, or her dad, whichever is in her way at the time.

Brison is too little to really know what he is interested in, other than his mom and dad. He has the biggest grins and is starting to really coo. It's really, really cute. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and we all love him very much and don't know what we would do without him.

As for me, I am still working away in my lovely cubicle at America First. I started back after having 10 weeks off and it was a little hard leaving the kids, but kind of refreshing at the same time. I am still enjoying my hobbies selling Scentsy candles and scrapbooking (or trying to keep up).

We are very greatful for our families and the time we get to spend with them and all the things that they do for us. We don't know what we would do without them!

We hope that all of you have a safe and happy holiday season! We love all of you and hope that you all can enjoy the peace and love that usually abounds during this season.

THANKSGIVING

I am Thankful for my family.

We had dinner at mom and dad's with Allison, Lance, Derek and Jennie. It was very small, and nice, and there was still plenty of food! I hope everyone else enjoyed theirs. Happy Shopping!

More pages...

I am really working hard to keep up, and catch up with these scrapbooks. I can't believe how easy it is to do it digitally. You don't have a mess to clean up! It's awesome. I also don't have to go to the store and get the pictures printed and then wait an hour for them to be done. AND I can do it in my pajamas!

More pictures...really?

Like I said, I really need to keep up on this. I found all these other pictures that are too cute to not post! This is one of Brison's weekly pictures, but the smile is way too cute to pack away in a scrapbook for few too many people to see. This was the day of the BYU vs. TCU game. He is the biggest fan. Ever since he has been born, BYU has not lost. Luck? I think not! It is his calling! It also shows Brison's ever so sensitive skin. He gets a rash practically every day and I have to put lotion on it quite a bit. It looks like it hurts. I feel bad. Hopefully, he'll out grow it, just like he's outgrowing his clothes! HELLO! He's already in 3-6 month clothes. I dont' even want to know how much he weighs! We'll find out on friday!

Tanya, our friend (practically sister the way we were fighting while she was here) from Arizona. Brooklyn loves Tonnie. We really enjoy it when the Martin's come up. They never stay long enough though!
This outfit was given to me by my OB/GYN nurse Darla. I love her! She is the nicest lady ever and I really enjoyed going to the doctor every week because I was able to see her and my doctor, Dr. Seale. He is the best doctor ever!
And, last but not least, like father, like son! This was done by a mischiveous Aunt Ashley and, of course, my husband. I would like to point out the Boppy. It is a wonderful invention. I also have to let you know that I really don't use it that much. It is used by my husband, my weight lifting, huge arm husband, who can't seem to hold his 13lb son for the 20 minutes it takes him to eat. Couch potato!

Halloween, Football and Blessings!

I really need to stay on top of this, too many things happen quickly when I don't. It's kinda like my journal. I think I last wrote when Brooklyn was born....ooops!

So, this is our Halloween picture. Ignore the big butt!

Brooklyn went around with Gavin and Lauren and they all had a ball. They would knock on the door and say trick or treat before they were done knocking! When the person would open the door, after what seemed like forever, they had their hands outstretched for the candy. It was really fun.

Second of all, Brian was assigned a High School Football Finals game this year. He was very excited about this opportunity and so was Brooklyn. She LOVES football!

This is Brian at the Timpview vs. Pineview 4A finals game.

The whole family was able to go and it was really fun. Brison was really good, he slept the whole time, almost, and Brooklyn just kept saying, "Daddy's football game! Daddy's running! That's my Daddy!" The other officials that were there watching the game were really smitten with her...I think she made out with about $3.00 in change. Most of them were grandpa's! She knows how to work the crowd....

Right before they went out onto the field, the Layton team came out of their locker room. Brooklyn was just in awe at them and kept saying "football players!" She is going to be the little girl from "Remember the Titans" except she won't be the coaches daughter, she'll know all the rules of the game while wearing her striped shirt!

Last but certinaly not least, we had Brison's blessing on the 11th of November. It was a very small, special time at mom and dad's house. Brian's family was there and my family and then our second family, the Martin's, came from Arizona. It was a very special time and I was proud of Brian and the good job he did. I am so greatful for eternal families! I am at peace knowing that I will be with these special spirits for eternity!

My favorite...so far!

I have been trying to catch up on my scrapbooking, now that Brison is here and I have ALL this free time. So, I have been doing it digitally, for now, until I get caught up. I was up last night until midnight doing this one and I think it is my favorite...so far!

1 Month Old

I finished Brison's 1 month old page. Thought you would like to see.

Copyright? You bet!

I went to walmart today to get some pictures developed. They asked me if I had a copyright permission slip to get these pictures developed. I had to inform them that unfortunately I didn't, because I was the one who took them. In Brison's room at 11:00 in the morning with a sheet of black material I purchased in the walmart fabric department, using my mom's camera. I would normaly be mad if I was hasseled in such a way, but in this case, I was actually complimented! I was setting up my little "photo shop" to take Brison's baby announcement pictures / 2 week old pictures and Brooklyn was wanting to be involved. She was still in her pajamas, had breakfast of eggs and ketsup on her face, and I hadn't even combed her hair! (Nobody look back at the time these pictures were taken, or if you do, please note the age of Brison.) Thanks to the magic of photo shop, you can't even tell. I am really happy with these pictures however, and am amazed at myself.

He's here!

Brison Dale Davies

Born 9-20-07 at 7:41 AM

9 lbs 7 oz. 21 inches long

I can't believe he is finally here! It seems like it took forever!

So far, he is a really good baby. He is eating really good and sleeping for most of the night. He only gets up twice. Should I knock on wood?

The delivery was pretty good. I was going to get started later that day, but he decided he couldn't wait any longer. He's impatient, just like his mom! Are we in trouble?

He came home on the day of the BYU vs. Air Force game and they won. I would have to say it was his BYU onesie that did it. In my professional opinion.

Thanks to our good friends, the Steadmans, Utah lost. And they know why they caused that!

Brooklyn has really been a good big sister. She wants to hold him and she helps out when feeding him and burping him. She hasn't had too many fits....yet. I'd say she is adjusting pretty good.

He is just a handsome guy. He looks just like his Dad. I couldn't be more happier to have him here!

I am alive!

It has been a long, long time, but we are still alive and kicking. I have just been extremly tired with this pregnancy, not to mention pretty sick early on. However, I believe I may just get a little bit more time in the evenings now, since we have gotten Brooklyn on a bedtime routine ( it only took a month! ) She is usually in bed by 8:30. Hopefully, it will give me some time to myself to catch up on some serious stuff, like scrapbooking and organizing pictures. Brooklyn has been taking swimming lessons this last week and she has been doing really well. She loves the water. We have been boating once this season. She did well. I am ready for this baby to be born, however, I still have 3 1/4 months! I need to calm down, because it's really far away! This is a picture of Brooklyn running through the sprinkler in our back yard. She loves the water!

Brooklyn thinking she is ready to drive the boat. Not quite yet!

Another page!

Well, I've spent another afternoon at the computer and I've finished another page set! Also, I finished a single page...thinking i'll just do single pages of her month dates, but then the big ones, 9 mo, 12 mo, 15 mo, 18 mo...etc i'll do a 2 page laytout.

I'm excited. I want to learn new things to be able to keep them unique and different.

Perhaps as time goes on...

Another one on the way!

Yes, it is true. We are adding another one to the family! We (why am I saying we?) I am due in September...on our anniversary. Brian and I are both excited. We aren't sure about Brooklyn, but she seems ok...I guess we'll see in a little while. I'm sure she will adjust to it smoothly! (yeah right!) I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I have so many things I am working on, I have my candles (scentsy products, they are awesome!) and I have recently purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 so I can start doing digital scrapbooking, so I want to learn how to use that program. We are working on finishing our basement and we are about half way there. It just seems like I am going to run out of time....because that baby will be here before you know it!
I completed my first scrapbook page today....it's the first one I have done. I hope they will get better as I go. I am happy with it, especially since it is my first!

Our Family

It's a new year so, why not have a new blog?
Our family survived Christmas with way, way, WAY too many gifts for Brooklyn.
She is one spoiled child, but she's adorable none the less.
We rung in the new year by going to bed at 11:30. Never been too big of a fan of New Years Eve. What are you supposed to do that night anyway?
We safely traveled to Arizona and back...13 1/2 hours down and 12 1/2 hours back. Brooklyn did relatively well considering...
It was a fun time had by all spent with the Martin family. Warm (some might say, others might stay still a little cold) weather, a trip to the zoo and a baby blessing topped off the extended weekend! Let's not forget the memorable trips to IN-N-OUT with their fabulous double double, and perhaps another cheeseburger. Thanks to Tonnie (spelled right?) for letting us stay at her lovely home. The only fee was putting together her barbacue grill!

KC, Brooklyn (yes, with pig tails!), Brian, Calli, Tanya, James and Dave.
